Born in the East End of London, the virtuoso vocalist, actor and composer has had a long and successful career. His amazing vocal experiences have seen him perform with many diverse artists from around the world such as Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan and Janet Kay. More recently, Cleveland Watkiss was cast as the starring role in Julian Joseph's two groundbreaking Jazz operas, Bridgetower and Shadowball, to considerable acclaim. He's also a very keen music educator, working as a voice instructor at workshops in venues, schools, colleges and universities around the UK. For his services to music Watkiss was awarded an MBE in the 2018 New Year Honours and received the award directly from the Queen Elizabeth II at the official ceremony in Buckingham Palace.
