Abraham Parker

Abraham is a DJ, trumpeter, writer, and theatre/community arts practitioner. An Honest Jon’s Records staff member since 2009, he remains behind their Portobello Road counter to this day, having spent a sabbatical in Glasgow running nights at Sub Club. He has collaborated and released records with the likes of Al Wootton, Big Hands, Contours, Holy Tongue and Steve Beresford, and in 2023 debuted his live set with Big Hands. He currently programs Mind Dance (a monthly event of live music and DJs raising money for mental health support) and Pick a Sound (a collective and night dedicated to bridging all natures of genres in a club). Away from music, he writes, teaches, and runs theatre and community arts organisation Vocal Point. As well as developing and touring theatre productions, the company runs workshops and courses for young people and the homeless and vulnerable.
